A new approach to science parks
Quantum is the youngest of Quintain's three funds. Founded in 2005, the business is a joint venture with Aviva Investors and seeks to generate income and value from science parks.
Creating a Spark at Emerson's Green
The focus of this fund is the 54 acre Bristol & Bath Science Park – SPark - at Emerson's Green, which sits close to the scheme held by our Urban Regeneration business.
The first building within the scheme will be Spark One. This 70,000 sq ft building will contain the Innovation Centre, flexible grow-on space for more established businesses and The Forum - a space dedicated to networking and services. Construction of Spark One will start this year, with the first tenants taking occupation in 2011.
Sustainability is as important on this development as any other Quintain scheme and is expressed in many ways. The mature features of the site are retained, with the form and placement of the buildings guided by the existing topography. The buildings will all achieve or exceed the BREEAM 'very good' rating and materials will be sourced through sustainable procurement routes.
The fund also has investments on the Heriot-Watt Science Park in Edinburgh and on the Cambridge Science Park.
